Kowhai Quality Coatings have been delivering and perfecting home improvement services since 1977. With over 30 years of roof painting expertise to build on, Kowhai today has licensed applicators throughout New Zealand. Every applicator is fully trained in our PROTECTAKOTE system, through to registration as a Licensed Kowhai Applicator. At Kowhai, we manufacture our own coatings to our own long-life performance tested formulations.

Our proven Moss Control service also forms the basis of our optional Roof Maintenance Programme entailing regular 3 yearly moss control applications. This allows us to offer extended warranties on both our materials and our workmanship.

You can choose from two high quality PROTECTAKOTE systems to suit your budget.

• Premium System – Offers a 10 year total warranty, or can be upgraded to a 15 year total warranty incorporating our moss control Roof Maintenance Programme.
• Standard System – Offers a 10 year pro rata warranty or can be upgraded to our 10 year total warranty in conjunction with our regular 3 yearly Roof Maintenance Programme.

Approximately two years ago we noticed that our roof needed attention and my husband went and talked to Monier Roofing to find out who they would recommend to rejuvenate the tired roof. They recommended two or three companies and we started at the top of the list.

We found that people were quick to come out and give us a quote and that is as it should be. Frankly we accepted the first quote because we really did not have anything to compare it with and we waited for the company to turn up to do the repairs. We waited and waited and waited!!! We rang them and got various assurances they were coming – just a bit snowed under etc but they would be there. The boss even came out to apologise – and still nothing. So we moved on to firm number two – believe it or not the same thing happened, we accepted the quote and then waited for action – and waited and waited.

Two summers later we rang Kowhai after hearing their advertisements on the radio. By this time we actually had a leak that was causing major problems. So things were urgent. We were very glad, Keith when you turned up exactly when you said you were going to and got Kevin, the wonder roofer to fix our leak and handle the resurfacing. We are thrilled with the end result and Kevin was a pleasure to have around. Cheerful and conscientious, and he cleaned up afterwards – too good to be true.

Mike and I really appreciate the service we received and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Kowhai to our friends. We only wish we had started off dealing with Kowhai two years earlier. It would have saved us a great deal of trouble (and time).

Jill and I thank you for your help and professional manner during the recent recovering of the roof of our home.

From the initial inspection of the roof through to the completion of the project you and your employees were very helpful in explaining the process, materials used and any likely hazards which may occur, e.g. the effects of the cleaning and moss killing solutions should they come into contact with vegetation and pets etc.

The finished job was first class and in my opinion lifted the value of our property greatly, as an aside when I am out for my evening walks I find myself assessing the roofs of houses and whether they need recovering, cleaning etc and if their owners should ask my opinion I would surely recommend your company to carry out any work which may be required.

Wayne and his team were initially engaged by my next door neighbours, in the adjoining townhouse, to coat their roof to match the existing coating on the roof of my property.

Once completed, we were offered an excellent price to paint the exterior of both properties which was subsequently accepted and the work commenced the following day.

The quality of the workmanship has not been compromised in any way and I am absolutely thrilled with the end result. There was far more work completed than I was expecting, with the downpipes and guttering also having been painted.

The tradesmen who worked on site were very clean and tidy in both appearance and work habits and put in long days to complete the job.
