When stone chip on steel first came into use, two methods were used to bond the chip to the metal. Mastic was widely used throughout New Zealand and over time, proved to be a failure, resulting in balding roofs and loose stone chips clogging gutters and downpipes. Over the same time period, acrylic resin bonding proved to be a long term performance winner.

Kowhai stone chip roof painting uses the proven acrylic bonding method. We use the very best of materials applied to our proven 6 step ProtectaKote system.

The waterblasting process to clean and prepare your roof	Applying the sterilising solution to prevent moss and mould
Flashings are checked, worst bent tiles are pulled up, rust areas cleaned back and spot primed and the first coat is applied	Base areas are re-coated with stone chips during the first coat
The second Hi-Build top coating is applied	Final matt overglazing creates a total weather barrier
Finished! Restored to just like new!

Every applicator is fully trained in our PROTECTAKOTE system, through to registration as a Licensed Kowhai Applicator. At Kowhai, we manufacture our own coatings to our own long-life performance tested formulations.

Our proven Moss Control service also forms the basis of our optional Roof Maintenance Programme entailing regular 3 yearly moss control applications. This allows us to offer extended warranties on both our materials and our workmanship.

• Premium System – Offers a 10 year total warranty, or can be upgraded to a 15 year total warranty incorporating our moss control Roof Maintenance Programme.
• Standard System – Offers a 10 year pro rata warranty or can be upgraded to our 10 year total warranty in conjunction with our regular 3 yearly Roof Maintenance Programme.
