I’m your local Kowhai Guy for South Auckland, servicing from Manukau and southward. Supported by the Kowhai national network, I operate my own business with the help of my father Ian (Snr.) My Dad has always been involved with roofing and I suppose it is only natural that I have followed in his footsteps. My first job on leaving school, was to join a well known South Auckland roofing company Ross Roofing, where I was part of a team installing new roofs. After a few years, I joined my Dad who was at that stage the supervisor for an Australian roofing company that had a branch in New Zealand restoring and coating roofs.

I later spent a further three years working for a gutter installation company. I became one of their fitters and gained some valuable experience. I am a roofing man at heart and soon returned to it, working in Auckland for Solar Chem Roofing who have been operating for nearly as long as Kowhai. I knew of Kowhai’s leading position in the roof restoration industry and when an opportunity to join the South Auckland team came up, I jumped at the chance. That was three years ago, and I have found my future. Kowhai quickly offered me the South Auckland area in my own right. I jumped at this too – I have lived here all my life and this was the chance of a lifetime to run my own business. I approached my Dad to run the sales for me and the rest as they say, is history. Trudy my wife does the books and I am really enjoying the roofing projects for our customers.
